Who is the WSET® Level 2 in Spirits course for?

This intermediate-level spirits course is for people who already have some basic knowledge, whether from the WSET® Level 1 in Spirits course or similar knowledge.

A comprehensive format, ideal for consolidating knowledge and gaining a better understanding of wines from around the world, including the main styles, factors influencing style and quality, and the description of spirits using a professional and systematic approach.

WSET® Level 2 in Spirits Program

This 15-hour WSET® Level 2 in Spirits course includes tasting 28 international spirits. The course is led by a WSET®-certified specialist.

You will study the main ingredients, production processes, and styles of the major categories: cognac, armagnac, calvados, pisco, grappa, whiskies, spirits made from sugar cane and agave, vodkas, spirits, and flavored wines.

You will learn how to analyze a spirit using the WSET® systematic tasting method and develop a precise vocabulary that will help you compare, describe, and understand the flavor profiles of different spirits from around the world.

Assessment & Certification

The WSET® Level 2 Spirits exam consists of a closed-book test with 50 multiple-choice questions.

Once you have passed, you will receive the official WSET® Level 2 Spirits certificate, which is recognized internationally.

This WSET® Level 2 in Spirits qualification is the next step before the advanced WSET® Level 3 (currently not offered for spirits in Switzerland).
